First of all, HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY!!!! Do you have any festive green plans?
Based on the title of this post, you can probably guess what I am doing for St. Patty’s day! And it is quite possible that I have never been so happy to be in warm, Floridian weather.
My Saturday was spent cooped up in Firestone library while it poured and poured and poured, and I begrudgingly worked on my thesis.
However, the thought of sun and warmth kept me going, and before I knew it, I was on the train bright and early heading to the airport!
Although I started off the morning with a chocolate protein smoothie at 6:30 am, by about 9:30 am my body was ready for a little more food. I had a Starbucks gift card to use, so instead of going to the random coffee shop right beside my gate, I trucked my bags all the way over to the nearest Sbux to save some money.
Despite the fact that I ended up spilling some of my coffee on my jacket, the trek was well worth it, as I purchased a yogurt parfait and a tall Americano.
I actually ended up eating the yogurt after I got off the plane around 2 pm, because I decided to try and sleep instead. That was kind of a failure, thanks to my recently consumed coffee, but to be honest it was just nice to sit, chill, and think. It’s been a long time since I’ve done that!
I arrived safe and sound, and after a nice lunch with Alex and her family, we went for a 1.5 hour beach walk, before riding around town on our bikes while the sun set.
After a quick dinner, Alex, her parents and I went to go see a spanish movie at the theatres, called A la Mala. Alex and her father speak Spanish, but fortunately for her mother and me, there were English subtitles that accompanied the film. It was a pretty funny movie and the actors were gorgeous (seriously, go Google Image search “Aislinn Derbez” and “Mauricio Dochmann” right now), so I didn’t even mind that I was reading the white text on the bottom the entire time!
After sleeping in, yesterday morning was spent outside on Alex’s terrace working on our respective theses. Although we are in Florida on spring break, we still have our theses to work on, so we plan to spend our time sleeping, doing school work in the sun, working out, and hanging out on the beach.
So far it’s been a success!
Alex and I just got back from a gruelling 1.5 hour spin class. It was supposed to only be an hour long, and about 5 minutes before the 60-minute class was up, our instructor said: “I feel like doing another 20 minutes! Let’s climb for 20 minutes!”. Needless to say, I will be rehydrating for the remainder of the day.
Any fun plans for St. Patrick’s day out there?
