Happy Monday morning!
Due to all of the chaos associated with packing and unpacking, not much happened on the food or fitness side this weekend, but I had anticipated that that might be the case. Two days off in a row was good for my body, and I’m sure it did much more good than harm.
Meals were either eaten mostly in the car or in my disaster-zone room, and I didn’t really have the wear withal to snap photos (I was too busy learning how to put a bed frame together).
So! This morning I thought I’d try out my new Oster MyBlend blender, that I bought the other day at Walmart.
I had limited ingredients, but I was still able to make a pretty tasty chocolate banana smoothie, using the following ingredients:
- 1 banana
- 1 scoop Vega Chocolate protein powder (this stuff is so good mixed with milk/Almond milk for protein shakes- and I don’t even like protein shakes)
- 1 spoonful of Decadent Coconut Chia and Flax Blend (purchased at Whole Foods)
- 1 spoonful PB2
- a small handful of rolled oats
I finished off the last of the PB2 and need to order some more because it is so versatile for breakfast foods, and I love its flavour in yogurt and smoothies.
It was a very powder-heavy smoothie, but fortunately, this doesn’t matter too much with smoothies.
But let’s be honest, do I ever turn down oats?
The verdict on the blender?
It’s no Vitamix, but it did the job for me, and I can’t wait to get creative with other ingredients. I’m just hoping the Oster will be able to blend frozen bananas, because I could eat those all. day. long.
