Hello, hello everyone!
Popping in quickly today to write about a few Friday favourites before grabbing some lunch, and heading off to practice. I have some exciting plans for the weekend as well, but you’ll get to read alllll about those in just a few moments, so I won’t spoil the fun 🙂
Remember my unidentified knee injury from a few weeks ago? Well, I went to the doctor early this week to discuss the MRI results, and turns out that it seems to be some sort of Baker’s cyst. The good news is that there doesn’t seem to be anything structurally wrong with my knee, which makes me think that the slight discomfort that occasionally arises is due to increased pressure from all the fluid. (For your sake, I hope you’re not eating as you read this right now).
In any case, on Wednesday I saw Robert, our awesome massage therapist to get my knee worked on, with the hope of releasing tension in the muscles around the cyst. With some luck, and a lot of stretching, we are expecting the swelling to decrease a bit in about a month or so.
So. Much. Coffee.
For example, on Tuesday I had two double Americanos in one hour. That’s 4 espresso shots, friends.
The weird part is, I’m not even drinking the coffee for the effect of the caffeine. I’m genuinely just starting to like the taste. Ahhhh! This is a bit of a scary thought for me, since the first time I bought my very first coffee was a little over a year ago, and I was convinced that it tasted like burnt toast. Clearly I wasn’t doing it right.
Want to know what my big plans are for the weekend? Playing squash!!
This weekend kicks off the beginning of our season, starting with the Ivy Scrimmages. We’ll be heading out today for a weekend filled with squash, friends, and family, and I can’t wait!
The best part about the squash world is that it’s such a tight-knit community, such that you basically know all the other players. I’m stoked to see friends on other teams, as well as my old high school coaches, and last but not least, my parents, who will also be visiting!
I’ll have more updates on Monday, so expect lots of pictures and a recap!
Like a Drum
This song is so, so good! It’s probably my favourite pump-up song right now, and I bet I’ll be listening to it on repeat before all of my matches this weekend. Take a listen!
Time to grab some food and get back to work. I’ve been up since 8 or so, and somehow 4 hours has already flown by! Yikes!
What’s one thing you’re loving this week?
Any fun plans for the weekend? Tell meeee!
What are your thoughts on coffee? How much coffee is too much (for you)?
