What a weekend! I didn’t end up going to Yale on Saturday, which was probably a good thing because the festivities for Casino Night started around 6 pm, meaning I would have missed the beginning. Despite all this Saturday talk, the weekend fun actually all started on Friday night, at Libbie’s 21st birthday party!
Friday: Libbie’s Birthday Party
And yes, that is a maraca in my hand! The party was Fiesta-themed, so the venue was decked out in Mardi Gras decorations. There was also green, white, and red food, as well as tamales for snacking!
Oh yeah, there were hats, too! Are you ever too old to dress up? (The answer is always “no”, by the way 😉 )
Saturday: Casino Night
All day Saturday I sat in the library, giddy with anticipation of the evening’s festivities. (Giddy? Does anyone say that anymore?).
The evening began in my room, where a few girls came over to hang out and get ready before heading out to the party. Once we got there, it was dinnertime, so we sat down for a
rowdy nice meal.
Ooh, also! I ended up going with a different dress, not the black and gold one I had originally thought about wearing. The dress I wore last night was sparkly, comfortable, and a little unique- definitely a good decision 🙂 .
One of the most fun parts of the night was a photo booth, which was complete with dress up accessories. I grabbed a number of things, but ended up sticking with a ginormous pair of pink glasses, and a multi-coloured clown wig.
A good look, am I right?
You better believe some selfies took place too… 🙂
No night is ever complete without a few shameless selfies. Props are just a bonus 😀 .
I actually didn’t end up playing any casino games, but instead spent most of my time catching up with friends and dancing. This was honestly probably a good decision, since I have almost zero experience with any sort of gambling games. On second thought, maybe it would have been a good time to learn with such low risk!
Sunday was mostly spent in the library studying, while also demolishing an entire pack of gum. WARNING: Never chew an entire pack of gum in 3 hours! Your tummy will get bubbles in it, and feel very uncomfortable. Thankfully the feeling passed during practice, when I (sluggishly) moved around the court a bit.
One pro of chewing a lot of gum? You get pretty good at blowing bubbles!
You also get pretty good at ignoring weird looks from other students studying nearby…
My tip? Go studying with a friend so you don’t look like a freak who blows bubbles the size of her face by herself.
Or just…don’t blow huge bubbles. Up to you.
Alrighty that’s all from me, now that we’re all caught up on weekend activities! Hope you had a great weekend, and that your week is off to a fantabulous start!
What did you get up to this weekend?
Are you any good at casino games?
Do you like chewing gum?
